The company’s new Factual slate is headed by 2-year project The Great Wall with Ash Dykes (6x60’), which delivers in October 2023. This co-production with Zig Zag Productions, Insight TV and China’s CICC and CMG follows the extreme athlete and adventurer as he is given the unique opportunity to explore The Great Wall of China in its entirety. Ash takes us to different places few foreigners have ever seen, including the oldest part of the wall in the remote inner Mongolian desert, once a key stopover on a thriving trade route. Ash also scuba-dives to a beautifully preserved part of the wall that now lies eerily submerged in a reservoir.
Next up is The Climate Restorers (4x60’) directed by Seattle-based John Bowey and narrated by Emmy-winner Peter Coyote, who calls this ‘the most important project he’s ever voiced’. This globally filmed series takes a look at how the new science of climate restoration, along with emissions reduction and other methods already in place, could reduce CO2 and methane back to levels that would support a stable planet and society. The cinematography comes from Emmy-winner Cameron Currier, and the series is executive produced by Peter Fiekowsky, whose best-seller “Climate Restoration: the Only Future That Will Sustain the Human Race” (co-written with Carole Douglis) inspired the series. Alexandra Dowling, whose acting roles include Game of Thrones and The Musketeers, is co-executive producer.
Coming out of its collaboration with Phil Fairclough’s Two Wise Monkeys, The League of Extraordinary Animals (13x60’) is Bomanbridge’s latest IP investment. This new nature series analyses the various survival tactics employed across the animal kingdom and features an unrivalled array of animals, from the very familiar to the extraordinarily rare. Currently in production, Bomanbridge is bringing the first episode to Cannes.
Chefs Uncut (6x30’), directed by Jon Lister from CreatorsLab, showcases six of Asia’s most talented chefs, each embodying the passion and drive - often verging on obsession - required to succeed in this brutal industry. Asia has more Michelin Stars than any other continent, and this beautifully filmed series features no fewer than three Michelin starred chefs. With more episodes under development, Netflix has already acquired the series across Asia. Also on-board are SBS Australia, and several other deals are being papered.
MIPCOM sees the launch of Klimt and The Kiss (1x90’/1x60’) the next film in the successful Exhibition on Screen arts franchise from Seventh Art Productions. Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss is one of the most recognised and reproduced paintings in the world, but just what lies behind its appeal - and who was the artist that created it? Delving into the details of real gold, decorative designs, symbolism and simmering erotica, a close study of the painting takes us to the beginning of Art Nouveau and dazzling turn-of-the-century Vienna, when a new world was battling with the old.

This film, which explores the first time in history the majority of Vermeer’s masterpieces came together in one exhibition has been nominated by Screen International for “Best Event Cinema Film of the Year”.
