On the remote island of Inakuni, the kids in the soccer club—including Asuto Inamori—love soccer more than anything else. But one day these soccer-lovers receive shocking news: their club will have to find an official sponsor, or else it will be disbanded…
Just when things are looking hopeless, Asuto is visited by a “supporter” who offers to sponsor the club if they can win a match at the Soccer Frontier, which is the most prestigious soccer tournament in Japan. Asuto and his teammates decide to take on the challenge, and the 11 kids leave the island and transfer to Raimon Junior High in Tokyo to begin the tournament.
