Despite attempting to live the simple life in scenic Martha’s Vineyard, retired Boston detective Jeff Jackson can’t seem to avoid getting involved in another homicide. This time Katie Leonard, a young waitress at a local restaurant, is found dead near Jeff’s beachside cottage, poisoned by a rare toxic plant. Kathy had come to Jeff earlier that day, uneasy and nervous, looking for help with a problem, but Jeff, insisting that he is retired, suggested she go directly to the police.
