The 9th month of the Islamic calendar is Ramadan- a sombre period of pray, reflection and fasting amongst Muslims. The completion of Ramadan, which is symbolically linked to the sighting of the new moon, culminates in the joyous celebration of Eid ul Fitr by 1.5 billion Muslims all over the world. Eid is a celebration of the brotherhood of man where the values of sharing, forgiveness and renewal are intricately woven into the fabric of society.
