No one has heard the roar of a mighty lion in the Rwandan wild for fifteen years. But that’s about to change. Rwanda has had its fair share of tragedy in recent years but the country is now relatively stable and the Rwandan Environmental Management Agency is set to release a pride back into the wilds of Akagera National Park.
But this is not a simple case of relocation. Rwanda is lush,green and swampy, and its native lions had adapted to a unique way of life before they were wiped out by war and loss of habitat.
