Braveheart: The Leopardess

This series follows an extraordinary leopard’s journey of bravery, devotion and determination as she raises her cubs on Zambia’s Luangwa river floodplain. Can she survive against the hyenas and lions which dominate her territory?

Against the backdrop of the breathtaking Luangwa river and surrounded by a diversity of iconic African fauna, a young female leopard must adapt to her new territory, earn the respect of her neighbours and raise a young family of her own. It won’t be easy as every other creature here is out to steal her hard-earned meals and worse – kill her cubs.

Filmed from mid-2019 through to late-2024, this series documents Chipadzua's evolution from a young, timid leopardess, to a fierce warrior, no longer shy to take her place in the hierarchy. In a supporting role, her cubs delight on screen as their thrills, spills and life-lessons come alive, following in their brave mother’s footsteps.
