Natural History and Wildlife

The Kruger National Park

Nestled in the northeastern corner of South Africa, Kruger National Park is one of the oldest and most iconic game reserves in the world.

Covering nearly 20,000 square kilometers, the vast wilderness of the Kruger National Park is one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth—home to thousands of animal species, including the iconic ‘Big Five.’

Established in 1926, it is home to 147 mammal species, over 500 bird species, and 125 reptiles across 14 eco-zones.

As Kruger nears its centenary, this documentary traces its history and the conservation triumphs that shaped it. We follow elephant herds safeguarding their young, lion prides reclaiming their dominance, and the elusive leopards navigating their secretive world. Wild dogs and cheetahs defy the odds, thriving against larger predators.

This is the untold story of Kruger - its resilience, power, and place as one of Earth's most cherished wildlife sanctuaries.
